Anyone else excited about the Taste of Chicago? Any particular restaurants you're looking forward to? There are so many foods I want to try. Too bad it's only a five days.

I don't really like the heat or crowds either. As for the expense well I justify it to myself as a once a year splurge.

I was just there yesterday and tried several things: Gourmet Deli Rolls (good), Mozzarella cheese stuffed meatball (not so good), Eggplant Parmigiana Sandwich (okay), Rabbit Corn Dog (good), and Triple Fudge Cupcake (great). I also had: Dream Cup (ice cream is always good), Combination plate: Baby Banana, Chocolate Banana, Fudge (great), and Deep Dish Sausage Pizza (good).

I'm headed out there again Sunday and plan to try: Mini Lamb Burgers, several things from Kilwin’s Chocolates, Fried Ripe Plantains, Breaded Pizza Balls, Turtle Cheesecake Smoosh with Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce, Banatella, Chocolate Chicago Lollipop, and Fried Cheesecake with Caramel Sauce. If I survive I'll post my impressions on the whole Taste here afterwards.
