Munipals El Train Toys

I don't know if you've seen this, but Munipals has partnered with the CTA to create "standard-sized" (Brio or Thomas the Tank Engine) wooden trains with magnets front and back. They're painted to look like a CTA car. Although it says "now in 3 models" I only see the red line. You can pick them up at Building Blocks Toys, in Lakeview.

Apparently they have a Brown Line version, which is the line closest to us. I'm tempted to get some of these for Christmas, but don't know if it's worth it or if Niko will just chew on them. He likes pushing cars and trucks around while saying "vrrr" but he also chews on them, and on anything wood. These look nice and nontoxic, but... probably would look best without gnaw marks.

We had a really simple Brio set when I was a kid and it was SO much fun. Just a figure 8 with a bridge. Totally awesome.

We have a mix of Thomas the Train and off-brand tracks that match up with T the T, and Brio at my parents' house (the set my brother got one year for his birthday). They get a LOT of use.
